What is Executive Coaching
"Executive or “business” coaching focuses on helping individuals go from where they are, to where they want themselves and their company to be. ... It is the client who determines the goals and commits to their goal, while allowing the coach to help hold them accountable."
Agree or disagree - thiughts on this description of executive coaching.

Is coaching important for business leaders?
Here's a section from "The Coaching Industry: A Work in Progress
by Ram Charan"

'There’s no question that future leaders will need constant coaching. As the business environment becomes more complex, they will increasingly turn to coaches for help in understanding how to act. The kind of coaches I am talking about will do more than influence behaviors; they will be an essential part of the leader’s learning process, providing knowledge, opinions, and judgment in critical areas.'

Coaching Qualifications - worth it or worthless?
Whats your views on coaching qualifications?
Which are the coaching qualifications that you really rate and value? If you are a client or coachee can you share which qualifications you recognise and value..... if you're a coach, what's your experience of coaching qualifications, programmes and development? Which ones are worth it..... which are worthless!
I'm a fan of professionalising our coaching industry and raising both the flag and the standards of coaching.
Let's rave about our coaching.

Coaching delivers demonstrable value.
I'm a fan of coaching, be that business coaching, executive coaching, life coaching, team coaching, health, sport, performance coaching.
So my rave is that coaching works and delivers valid, demonstrable change, often quantifiable value....
But my rant is that not enough businesses look at coaching as a key part of their developmental strategy.
So let's all rave about coaching , and share quality articles and insights to educate the world about the genuine value of coaching, in all its forms.

G4S, really?
G4S seem to win some fabulous contracts and yet seem appear incapable of doing a decent job.
They messed up their 2012 Olympic contract - which was an absolute - disgrace, their staff have been accused of bullying and now they hand over a prison because they can't cope.
On top of this, and their billion pound turnover, they pay no tax apparently.
Given this, I wonder what their values are, and his this impacts on people , decisions, investment in people etc.

Thoughts can and will change your life
Thoughts create your world.  Thoughts create your world even if you don't think they do.  If you think a thought over and over again, you will get it.  Here is an example: if someone says, “I am depressed”, and they say this over and over again, they will most likely become depressed.  Even if a person just says, “I am sad” over and over again, the person will become sadder and more depressed.  It’s like old saying, “The… Read More »
