Dragons Den
If you were going on Dragons Den , on BBC TV, you'd think people would prepare their pitch and know their numbers. Surely you'd practise and at least prepare your thinking and answers for some questions you might reasonably expect from the Dragons, like: Margins, Competition, Opportunities etc.
People, get some coaching - some challenging coaching - before you step in the Den and give yourself a better chance!

Injury and Coaching
having recently hurt my back, quite badly, I have had to rethink exercise and health and as a result I find I have had to take up swimming to get my exercise. Have rediscovered the joy of swimming and am coaching myself through the discomfort of re engaging with swimming and rethinking my exercise.
There's almost a benefit in injury and the rethinking it requires. No I don't want a bad back, nor do I want you to have one either. But it's interesting what we can learn from such challenges.

Call me a cynic but I doubt there's much hope for truly improving our health as a nation. Information is there if you are motivated to look for it but most people aren't.

Periodic doses of short term discomfort for a better chance of life long heath aren't as palatable as chips and donuts.

People's brains have trouble in assessing inter-temporal choices so long term pain isn't judged well against short term reward. The biggest battle we have to fight is against our own minds.

Permission of snow
I love the fact that Snow gives us permission to talk to eachother! Walking to school and then onto work this morning, there was an appreciable increase in smiling, pleasantries etc between people.
I remember during the Olympics in London that people were chirpier and chattier on Tubes, Trains etc and it seemed ok to be friendly for two weeks.
Why does snow give us permission to be nicer to our neighbours, to offer eachother help and support?

Generally people are less approachable the further north of the equator and more so in sunnier climes, or so the cultural experts tell us. It's probably change that makes people come out of their shells - or a shared unusual experience.

Rave about this new forum
I see I am an early member to join this lifecoaching forum. The word lifecoaching is funny.... But in truth, coaching is of value in all areas of life - at home, at work, at school, at play.
The effects of good quality coaching, no matter what area it might be focussed on, will have an impact on the person, and thus their life. Coaching someone to develop better relationship skills at work will help them and others in all walks of life. Simple. Coaching for life, my life, your life...

Unfortunately I think the industry has had some bad PR in the past and one of the aims of this forum is to stress the benefits mentioned in your Rave, PJ.

Why have a coach
I'd like to rave about my coach who who regularly kicks my butt and helps me to keep clear vision of my purpose, which includes saying yes to the right clients and work where I add value, and saying no to work where I am unlikely to be at my best.
Why have you got a coach?

Thoughts can and will change your life
Thoughts create your world.  Thoughts create your world even if you don't think they do.  If you think a thought over and over again, you will get it.  Here is an example: if someone says, “I am depressed”, and they say this over and over again, they will most likely become depressed.  Even if a person just says, “I am sad” over and over again, the person will become sadder and more depressed.  It’s like old saying, “The… Read More »

Loving Yourself First
The one thing I want to make crystal clear is please don’t hold a grudge or hate your ex. It will only hurt you, not your ex. The way we feel and treat ourselves will mean more than what anyone thinks of us. Loving yourself can change your life. Read More »
